The Ohio University Dance Team kicks off spring with multiple events

Ohio University’s Dance Team is excited to announce a series of spring events designed to engage the community in the spirit of dance, while showcasing the talent of Bobcats both inside and out of the Chaddock + Morrow College of Fine Art’s School of Dance.

"The Ohio University Dance Team is dedicated to giving back to all of those who help to make our dancing a reality," said Dance Team Director Dr. Andrew Pueschel. "Our Spring performances and events are celebrations of all the generosity we have received from our OHIO community, family, friends, alumni and the administration including the Office of the Provost, School of Dance, Chaddock + Morrow College of Fine Arts and Athletics." 

The following are a list of Dance Team events for this spring:

Competition Kick-Off: The spring season will begin with a competition kick-off on April 6, at 5 p.m. in the Convocation Center. Showcasing both the team's competitive pom and jazz routines, this is a perfect opportunity for fans and supporters to cheer on the team and see their hard work and passion as they take their dancing to the next level. Dance Team Union's College Classic: The Team will travel to Orlando from April 10-14 to dance in the Dance Team Union's College Classic. This event will bring together college dance teams from across the country to compete and showcase their skills. The team is eager to represent Ohio University and demonstrate their excellence on a national stage. Athens Community Dance Clinic: On April 26, the Ohio University Dance Team will host a Community Dance Clinic. This event is open to dancers throughout the community, providing an opportunity to learn from the team members and experience the joy of dance, fostering a sense of community and encouraging participation in the arts. Official Performance Team Tryouts: Open to all Bobcats, official performance team tryouts will be held on April 27. Aspiring dancers are invited to showcase their talent and audition for the Ohio University Dance Team. The tryouts will be held at the Convocation Center, and participants will have the chance to become part of a dynamic and dedicated team that represents Ohio University with pride.
