Canvas is now available for all instructors and staff. You can familiarize yourself with Canvas or start setting up content now to prepare for your future courses.
What can you do right now?
- Request a course: Submit a ticket (opens in a new window) to request a test course. You can start setting up a future course or just get comfortable using the great features available in Canvas.
- Apply an OHIO Templates (opens in a new window): These templates provide a consistent experience for students, are easy-to-use, and support sound pedagogical design. Make sure to apply the OHIO templates (opens in a new window) available in Canvas Commons to your courses.
- Register for Trainings: Secure your spot in the transition training sessions (opens in a new window) provided by the Office of Instructional Design.
- Prepare to migrate courses: If you have materials in Blackboard, you can transfer it to Canvas (opens in a new window) now, so it's ready for your future courses.
- Stay Informed and Supported: For all the latest updates, including the timeline and FAQs, keep an eye on the OIT's Canvas Implementation website (opens in a new window). It's continuously updated with vital information to assist you.
- For personalized guidance, consider scheduling a consultation and visiting the Office of Information Technology (opens in a new window), the Office of Instructional Design (opens in a new window), and the Center for Teaching, Learning, and Assessment (opens in a new window). These offices are prepared to offer training, consultations, and individualized support to facilitate your transition to Canvas.
Please remember: While only a limited number of courses will be taught in spring 2024 as part of Phase 1 (opens in a new window) of the migration from Blackboard to Canvas, the platform is open for everyone to explore.
