Transfer Student Schedule (January)

This schedule is for in-person orientation programs for transfer students in January. Specifically Friday, January 9, 2026. This schedule is subject to change and should not be referenced for other BSO Program dates.

Staff will be in the marked parking lot beginning at 7:45 am. They will greet you at the entrance and pass out parking permits before you head to Baker University Center for Check-In.

9:00 - 9:20 a.m. BSO Welcome and Program Overview
Kick off your orientation journey with an introduction from university leadership and the orientation team!

9:20 - 10:05 a.m.Belonging to OHIO
Connect with your orientation leaders and fellow students while exploring what the Ohio University experience is really like. This session also features a student panel where you’ll hear firsthand about campus resources and the day-to-day life of an OHIO student. *If you need to take a placement test, please report to Morton 115 during this session.

10:10 - 10:35 a.m.THRIVING at OHIO 
The Office of the Dean of Students will guide you through resources and strategies to help you thrive both academically and personally at OHIO. You’ll also learn about the expectations the university has for all Bobcats.

10:35 - 11:10 a.m.A Mid-Year Start: Opportunities for Belonging
Led by the Office of the Dean of Students, this panel will introduce key offices and highlight ways to jump right into your OHIO experience. You’ll also gain practical strategies for getting involved and building connections as a mid-year starter.

11:20 - 12:00 p.m.Succeeding as a Transfer Bobcat 
In this session, orientation staff will walk you through essential information and systems tailored to the transfer student experience, including guidance on course registration.

Enjoy a meal in an OHIO dining hall! For free entry, please wear your Bobcat Student Orientation lanyard.

1:00 - 1:55 p.m.Services to Know
Representatives from the University Registrar, Financial Aid and Scholarships, Office of the Bursar, Transportation and Parking Services, and Culinary Services will provide essential information to support your transition.

2:00 - 4:45 p.m.Academic Essentials and Course Registration
Connect with advisors to review academic requirements and receive guidance on course registration. You'll also learn about OHIO Guarantee+ Graduation Plans. Advisors and orientation leaders will assist you with registering for next semester’s classes.

2:30 - 5:00 p.m.Required Student Check-Out 
Once you’ve completed course registration, you’ll need to check out with the orientation team and pick up your printed student ID to officially wrap up your BSO experience.
