Conflict of Interest (COI)

All Ohio University faculty, staff and students who are Key Investigators on Sponsored Projects must complete a conflict of interest disclosure form in Cayuse before receiving grants from an external funding source. The annual disclosure form is completed annually and the research based disclosure form is completed at time of award. This helps the university ensure that all research activities are in compliance with federal, state and university policies. Key Investigators are defined as PI, Co-PI, Co-I, Investigator, Fellow and Mentor.

Note that some federal grant programs, in particular the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and Department of Energy (DOE), may require completion of conflict-of-interest disclosures prior to SUBMISSION of grants. Conflict of Interest training is required for these external funding opportunities and is available through the CITI training site.
