Freshmen Admission
Freshmen admission to the McClure School's Information and Telecommunication Systems program major is based on
- high school class rank,
- test scores,
- professional activities, and
- availability of openings in the school.
Any student admitted to Ohio University is eligible to enter the McClure School as an ITS major (major code BC5329) or ECT track (VR/AR) major (major code BC5383). For information and to apply, go to the Ohio University Office of Undergraduate Admissions.
Transferring to the ITS major from another major
The McClure School welcomes students who want to switch their major to ITS. You may apply for a transfer at any time.
Transfer admission to the school depends on:
- GPA (minimum 2.5) and
- availability of openings in the school.
You must submit the following forms to transfer into the McClure School's ITS Program:
- ITS Transfer Form
- Application for Update of Academic Program(s) (available in McClure School Office, 360 Schoonover Center)
- Current DARS or transcript
Both application forms are available at the school office at 360 Schoonover Center. View and print your current DARS using your OHIO ID and password.

Transferring to Ohio University
You are considered a transfer student if you have completed more than 9 semester hours or 12 quarter hours from another regionally accredited institution after graduating from high school. This includes Ohio University’s regional campuses. Click on the links below for more information.
