2020 Media Creative Works Program
2020 Summer Student Program
To encourage student creative activity this summer, the School of Media Arts & Studies will be hosting the 2020 MDIA Creative Works Program. This initiative will solicit creative submissions from students’ work across four categories of production. Work must be completed this summer and submitted no later than Friday July 31st.
Submitted work will be reviewed by MDIA faculty panel and a total of four $250 awards will be given to student winners
Submissions will be accepted in the following categories:
- Animation/Games,
- Narrative short film
- Non-Fiction short film
- Music and Audio Production
Rules:
- Submissions must be created during the 2020 summer period (Monday June 15th – Friday July 31st) and submitted no later than Friday 7/31 at 11:59pm.
- Only one submission per student/student group.
- Each entry must be less than 10 minutes in length.
Categories:
Audio/Music Production: A student/student group may submit a single song, but not a whole album. If a podcast or audio story is submitted, the selection should be no more than 10 minutes in length.
Narrative Film short film: A student/student group may submit a scene of a longer piece if it exceeds 10 minutes.
Non-Fiction short film: A student/student group may submit a commercial, promo video, micro-documentary, or a scene from a longer piece.
Animation/Games: A student/student group can submit a project that ranges between 30 seconds to 10 minutes. If it is a game walk through, the recording can be between 30 seconds and 5 minutes.
Previous schoolwork and/or previously produced projects are NOT eligible for this competition.
