This guide helps students understand when suspension or expulsion might be a possible outcome. All sanctioning decisions are made with consideration of the specific circumstances and prior conduct history.
- Is this your first violation?
- Yes → Proceed to Question 4.
- No → Proceed to Question 2.
- Are you currently on disciplinary probation?
- Yes → Suspension or Expulsion are possible outcomes should you be found in violation.
- No → Proceed to Question 3.
- Is this violation similar to, or a repeat of, your previous violation?
- Yes → Suspension or Expulsion are possible outcomes should you be found in violation.
- No → Proceed to Question 4.
- Is this a sexual misconduct, relationship violence, or stalking violation?
- Yes → Suspension or Expulsion are possible outcomes should you be found in violation.
- No → Proceed to Question 5.
- Was anyone injured as a result of your actions, or is it reasonable to believe that someone could have been injured by your actions?
- Yes → Suspension or expulsion are possible outcomes should you be found in violation.
- No → Proceed to Question 6.
- Did you threaten, intimidate, or harass anyone?
- Yes → Suspension or expulsion are possible outcomes should you be found in violation.
- No → Proceed to Question 7.
- Were any weapons involved?
- Yes → Suspension or expulsion are possible outcomes should you be found in violation.
- No → Proceed to Question 8.
- Was there significant damage to property?
- Yes → Suspension or expulsion are possible outcomes should you be found in violation.
- No → Proceed to Question 9.
- Did you distribute, supply, or sell drugs (prescription or illegal) to another person, or possess a drug other than marijuana?
- Yes → Suspension or expulsion are possible outcomes should you be found in violation.
- No → Suspension or expulsion are unlikely outcomes should you be found in violation.
