Suspension Resources

When students face the risk of suspension, they often have a number of questions about how a potential suspension might impact them:

“How will a suspension affect my VISA status? My financial aid? My participation in clubs, student organizations, or NCAA athletics? My graduation status? My housing status? My opportunities to study abroad? My ability to utilize campus resources like Campus Care or Counseling & Psychological Services?”

There are myriad ways that a suspension can affect students. The list below offers some direction and contact information for offices that may be able to assist in answering these and other questions. Please note, this list is not exhaustive, and does not include resources for circumstances outside of the university that might also be impacted by a student’s suspension.

We strongly encourage students to directly contact relevant offices in advance of their case resolution with the Office of Community Standards and Student Responsibility, particularly those related to financial aid, scholarship eligibility, or visa status. If a student is suspended from the university, they will be trespassed from campus and unable to meet in person with university offices. Any communication after that point would need to take place by phone or email.
