This awareness fuels our unwavering dedication to empowering and educating the Ohio University community. By providing impactful programming, we aim to recognize and prevent such violence's devastating effects. Together, we can foster a culture of empathy, support, and positive change.

  • Interpersonal Violence

    101 (45-60 minutes)

This program is an introduction to recognizing red flags that could lead to interpersonal violence. (Sexual violence, partner violence, and stalking) Participants will engage in discussion-based activities that identify behaviors that could lead to harm, how to help a friend, and what resources are available on campus or in our community for those who may have experienced harm.

  • Hazing 101

    45-60 minutes

In this training, we will explore hazing, how to recognize its signs, and the harm it causes to health, safety, and well-being. Together, we will discuss the intersections of hazing and how we can prevent it through bystander intervention. We will also look at Ohio University's hazing policy. Finally, we will provide helpful resources to understand hazing better and ways to intervene if you encounter it.

  • Green Dot

    Student Overview — 60-90 minutes
    Staff/Faculty Overview — 60-90 minutes
Bystander Leadership Training — 3 hours

The Green Dot program was conceived in the college setting to prevent dating violence, sexual violence, and stalking. It relies on the premise that if everyone does their small part and commits to doing something to prevent harm, the combined effect is a safe campus culture that is intolerant of violence. Green Dot approaches all students, staff, administrators, and faculty as allies. The college-based curriculum draws heavily on the experiences of college students and the reality of this issue in their lives. This curriculum uses interactive activities to reinforce core concepts and encourages students to envision their future and the world in which they want to live, then aligns their bystander behavior with that vision.
