N. Victor Goodman is a graduate of Yale University, where he received his bachelor’s degree, magna cum laud, and the Harvard Law School, where he completed his Juris Doctor. He was also awarded an honorary Doctor of Public Service degree by Ohio University in 2004. Mr. Goodman is currently an Attorney at Law with Benesch, Friedlander, Coplan and Aronoff LLP, where he is a partner.
Mr. Goodman has a prolific history of service including an 8-year term on the Ohio Board of Regents, membership on the Ohio University Board of Trustees from 1994-2001 with Chairmanship from 1999-2000, membership on the Ohio University Foundation Board of Trustees from 2001-2010, and was appointed by President Reagan and reappointed by President Bush as a member of the Federal Service Impasses Panel from 1987-1994. In addition, Mr. Goodman served as a member of the Board on the Unauthorized Practice of Law of the Ohio Supreme Court, appointed by Chief Justice Thomas Moyer for a three-year term commencing January 1, 2008—December 31, 2010 and then reappointed for a three-year term from January 1, 2011—December 31, 2013.
Trustee Goodman received various awards including his election as a Fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers in 2002, recipient of the Miami University Presidential Medal in 1992, 1991 Columbus Bar Association Community Service Award, and the 1997 Thomas A. VanMeter Award for Community Service from Ashland University, to name a few.
