First Year Experiences

It's your time to explore and discover new opportunities.

Sophomore Year Experiences

You know the campus. Deepen your engagement. Explore opportunities within your major or select a major.

  • Take on a leadership role within a student organization associated with your major or other leadership opportunities on campus.
  • Explore study away opportunities, within and outside of the USA. Study away for a semester, part of a summer, over winter or spring break. Make a plan for your junior year.
  • Connect with a Career Coach. Do not wait until you are about to graduate to take advantage of this resource.
  • Explore on-campus student employment options and work on your core competencies to be better prepared to launch into a future career.
  • Meet with your faculty mentor (spring semester).
  • Create and update your professional materials, Career Services is a great resource.
  • Complete the Sophomore Engagement Survey, watch your email after spring break.

Junior Year Experiences

Lock in to your major and identify potential career paths you want to pursue after graduation.

  • Gain experience with an internship, check out the Career and Internship fair.
  • Reconnect with your faculty mentor.
  • Research and create a plan after you graduate.
  • Engage in a study away experience.
  • Network, make connections off-campus through Bobcat Network. Engage with Bobcat Alumni to network, explore career fields associated with your major.
  • Check that you are ready for graduation.

Senior Year Experiences

Finish strong — continue to deepen your Bobcat experiences that will prepare you to launch after you graduate.

  • Apply for graduation.
  • Reconnect with your faculty mentor.
  • Update your professional materials, Career Services is a great resource.
  • Prep for interviews and attend career fairs.
  • Complete financial aid exit counseling.
  • Complete the Senior Involvement Survey, watch your email.
