Voinovich School Fellow and executive coach Beverly Jones recently released a new podcast series entitled, “Jazzed About Work,” produced by WOUB and sponsored by the Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Affairs. The podcast launched its initial show on April 27 with more to come every other Thursday.

This podcast discusses what it takes to create an impactful and meaningful career. Along with Jones’ expertise, she invites prominent authors and jobs experts, as well as other professionals with interesting work lives, into informal conversations about everything involved in creating a rewarding career.

“The episodes are intended to be both entertaining and helpful.” Jones said. “The combination of interesting stories and practical suggestions creates this new show.”

Jones and her guests will discuss topics such as smart ways to lead, tips for protecting and promoting your reputation, strategies for managing and restructuring your career, and how to overcome boredom, frustration or loneliness at work.

Pulling together the professional expertise and personal stories creates a combination that drives a conversation that will both entertain and meet the needs of those seeking career advice.

The first podcast features Kerry Hannon, an expert in career and work, who advocates taking responsibility for turning your job into one you can love. Recognizing that shifting career paths is not always an option, Jones and Hannon provide tips for improving and enriching listeners’ current work experience.

Listen to the podcast on NPR One, Google Play, and Apple Podcasts. It can also be found on the WOUB website. Be sure to follow to stay tuned into updates of new shows.

Jones graduated from Ohio University with an undergraduate degree in journalism and a master’s degree in business administration. She continued her education at Georgetown University to receive a law degree and leadership coaching certificate, as well as a senior management in government certificate from Harvard’s Kennedy School. Beverly has a long relationship with OHIO and the Voinovich School, as noted in a previous profile article.
