Launched in spring 2017, the new online Master of Public Administration through Ohio University’s Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Affairs is now concluding its first year, with more than 80 students enrolled in the popular program.

Designed for working professionals, the exclusively online MPA makes it possible for students across the country to participate in a career-advancing program with limited interruption to personal and professional responsibilities.

"The Voinovich School offers a unique approach to public administration, renowned for its inter-disciplinary focus and emphasis on applied research. We are proud that through our online program we are now able to share that approach, along with the knowledge resources of our esteemed faculty, with working professionals across the globe,” said Jason Jolley, associate professor and MPA program director at the Voinovich School.

Like the Voinovich School’s traditional MPA program, the online version offers a curriculum that’s built for the real challenges of public administration. The Voinovich School helps its students learn to manage resources, develop policies effective in both practice and in cost, build adept communication skills and develop leadership skills to unite public agencies, private companies and non-profits to achieve common goals.

Courses explore topics like data analysis, public-private partnerships, and measuring outcomes. Additionally, students in the program can specialize their expertise by choosing from concentrations that reflect the current landscape of public affairs: Public Leadership and Management or Nonprofit Management. This 36-credit program is offered through Ohio University’s Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Affairs and can be completed entirely online in as few as two years. No GRE is required for application.
