Rich Delisio, business counselor in Akron at the Ohio University Procurement Technical Assistance Center, part of the Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Affairs, recently spoke to the Record Courier about the benefit of business diversity and partnerships.

“Rich Delisio, the business counselor at the Ohio University Procurement Technical Assistance Center in Akron, said he agrees with Cook-Euell that companies and agencies which take advantage of business diversity gain several benefits. “You’re getting different ideas and different viewpoints,” he said. He also said smaller companies starting to seek contacts with larger companies may value those jobs more than a larger, more established company that may already have other large contracts.“A small company is going to love to have a contract with KSU,” he said. “It can be used as a springboard to a larger contract.”

He has served the Procurement Technical center for the past 10 years and has more than 25 years of procurement management experience. His contract coaching includes eleven counties in Ohio and serves over 270 clients.

The Ohio University Procurement Technical Assistance Center works to help businesses identify, compete for and succeed in government contracting.
