Director of Social Entrepreneurship and Innovation Faith Knutsen to appear on national conference panel

October 30, 2018

Faith Knutsen, director of social entrepreneurship and innovation for Ohio University’s Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Affairs, will participate in a national session on value propositions at the State Science and Technology Institute annual conference in December.

The State Science and Technology Institute conference –– the largest gathering of science and technology policymakers and practitioners from government agencies, nonprofits, higher education institutions and more –– will take place Dec. 3-5 in Salt Lake City.

Knutsen is creating the session with Steve Glynn, Director of Innovation at the Milwaukee Water Council. The session co-creators will advise social entrepreneurs (including for-profits and nonprofits) on honing their value propositions while also considering their individual audiences, funding sources, public support and client needs.

In a preview Q&A with the State Science and Technology Institute, Knutsen said it’s important for companies to test value propositions with their target markets, then respond and alter the proposition according to feedback.

“Agile pivoting from an outdated value proposition is a vital role of any governing board and executive staff,” Knutsen said.

According to its website, the State Science and Technology Institute strives to create a better future through science and technology innovation and entrepreneurship.
