MS in Exercise Physiology: Human Performance Track
The master's program in human performance uniquely prepares you for the professional workforce in a summer-to-summer, 34-hour program (three semesters on campus, one semester off campus). Interactions with athletes and coaches will allow you to gain an understanding of the day-to-day operations in the field as well as network with professionals who are connected to the industry. Various projects relating to performance and athletics will challenge and develop your problem-solving skills. Your educational experience at Ohio University is continual whether in the classroom, weight room, practice field, or testing laboratory.
Practicum, Laboratory Spaces, and Performance Analytics
Practicum placement opportunities can include, but are not limited to:
- Ohio University Strength and Conditioning
- Reserve Officers' Training Corps
- Ohio University Human Performance Center
- University and local athletic teams
The Human Performance Center includes state-of-the-art laboratory spaces specifically designed to monitor:
- Resistance training
- Exercise physiology
- Biomechanics
- Body composition

Performance Data Analytics in humans and sports require practitioners to have the capacity to manage large data sets and derive meaningful information from the collected data. The program's curriculum and planned experiences help you develop a systematic approach to using analytics to understand the meaning of the acquired results. Admissions Information & Funding
Applications must be submitted by February 15th for full consideration of admission, financial aid, and graduate funding opportunities. Competitive financial awards are available annually to qualified students. Awards provide partial to full-tuition funding along with a living stipend to support the academic year while at Ohio University.
