The Ohio University Emeriti Association is a multifaceted non-profit association open to all faculty and administrative presidential appointees who have completed a period of meritorious service to Ohio University and have been awarded Emeritus or Emerita status by the Ohio University Board of Trustees in accord to Ohio University Policy (18.031: Emeritus or Emerita Status), and join the Association in accordance with the constitutional requirements. For more information about joining the Association, please go to the link "News".

The Emeriti Association plays no role in determining Emeriti status. The University provides a number of benefits to individuals with such status: parking, library privileges, and access to certain computer services.

The Association exists to promote a number of goals. We are a social organization which encourages the interaction of Emeriti through monthly luncheon meetings and arranging for trips to cultural programs at instate and out of state locations. The luncheons always feature a speaker discussing topics of interest to the Emeriti. Our newsletter keeps members informed about the ongoing activities of the Association.

We recruit and coordinate volunteers to serve local arts institutions and to help at other special events. We advocate for Emeriti at the university level and occasionally at the State House in Columbus. The Association has become active in fund raising for Emeriti projects within the University. Our fund raising to date has focused primarily on developing and sustaining the Emeriti Park. We are a lively organization with anywhere from 30 to 70 persons attending our monthly meetings.
