Valerie Bernard

Valerie serves as the Assistant Director of Career and Employer Engagement for the Russ College of Engineering and Technology. In addition to partnering with employers and supporting students with internship and co-op opportunities, Valerie enjoys teaching the Career Course for the College. Valerie conducts a variety of workshops and creates programming related to exploration of Engineering career fields. Valerie brings over 20+ years of career development experience to Ohio University. Prior to this role, Valerie worked as a consultant in the mining and manufacturing industry for two decades, and she is excited to bring stakeholders together to provide meaningful opportunities for students. Valerie holds a doctorate degree in Training and Development with a focus on Systems Engineering and is proud to say she is a 3x Marshall University graduate. In her spare time, Valerie can be found spending time with family, travelling internationally, and playing golf.
