Daniela Chaparro

Assistant Professor of Instruction, Sound

Daniela is a first-generation Chilean-American sound artist who specializes in designing for live performance and audio editing for short films. They currently live on the ancestral lands of the Shawnee, Hopewell, and Adena, where they are studying for a Masters in Theatrical Sound Design at Ohio University. As they dig deeper into the art of sonic storytelling, Daniela is constantly inspired and challenged by fruitful discussions and necessary efforts against white supremacy, racism, transphobia, fatphobia and inaccessibility. They hope to learn from and collaborate with others to ultimately create evocative art injected with purpose and a call to action.
