Concentration within the B.F.A. Studio Art program
What you’ll learn
Our Photography program builds on the legacy of the historically renowned Clarence White School of Photography in New York, which was re-established at Ohio University in 1948. The program focuses on photographic practice in its most inclusive and experimental manifestations. The curriculum and faculty will encourage you to experiment with a wide variety of processes and platforms, ranging from black and white photography, to digital imaging and video, to interdisciplinary practice.

After you complete concentration prerequisites, you’re required to submit a letter of intent/statement of purpose, artist statement, resume, and three letters of reference along with your application.

Career opportunities
Students from the program have been known to become leaders in the field, receive honors from the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation and the National Endowment for the Arts Fellowships.
Admissions
Students can start out as B.A. or B.F.A. Studio Art majors, or start out in the B.A. Studio Art major and then apply to enter the B.F.A. degree at a later date. There are no requirements beyond University admission requirements to become a Studio Art major.
