Wendy Blackwood has been teaching piano at the Athens Community Music School since 2006 and was appointed Director in May 2018.  In addition to teaching piano, Wendy collaborates with Ohio University music majors, faculty, and Athens area ensembles.  Wendy is active in the Southeast Ohio Chapter of the Music Teachers National Association where she currently serves as secretary and is also a collaborative piano member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing.  She was honored to be chosen as an collaborative pianist in the prestigious NATS Intern Program in June 2018.  She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education and Master of Music degree in Piano Performance from Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC.  Wendy, her husband Nathan, and two children, Lorelai and Isaac, enjoy hiking, reading, and being a part of the vibrant arts community in southeast Ohio.
