Faculty development at Ohio University is intended to support our exceptional faculty in their roles as engaged teachers, scholars, researchers, creative artists and service providers throughout their academic career. The following resources have been collected for OHIO faculty through regional and national organizations.

National Center for Faculty Development & Diversity 

The National Center for Faculty Development & Diversity (NCFDD) is a nationally recognized, independent organization that provides online career development and mentoring resources for faculty, post-docs and graduate students. OHIO faculty, staff and students are invited to activate their individual NCFDD membership to explore a variety of expert guest webinars, programs and on-demand resources.

Strategic Ohio Council for Higher Education 

Formed in 1967, the Strategic Ohio Council for Higher Education (SOCHE) is a consortium of colleges and universities in Ohio that promotes educated, employed, and engaged citizens. OHIO faculty, staff and students are invited to activate their individual SOCHE membership to explore SOCHE’s digital library for faculty and staff. SOCHE also offers a virtual and in-person events.

Ohio College Teaching Consortium

To promote student success, the Ohio College Teaching Consortium (OCTC)equips instructors at Ohio’s colleges and universities with evidence-based teaching strategies. The Inclusive Teaching in Higher Education Endorsement offered by OCTC allows instructors to explore issues and tools for creating inclusive learning environments. Any instructor currently teaching at an Ohio post-secondary institution is eligible to participate.

The Higher Education Resource Services (HERS) Leadership Development Program

The HERS Leadership Institute is a transformational leadership development program for women in higher education, founded to fill leadership pipelines across the United States with dynamic women — each capable of ushering their respective institutions into a more inclusive and equitable future.
