Dr. Lyn Redington serves as the vice president for student affairs at Ohio University. She provides leadership for more than 250 professional staff, 3,000 student employees, and 40 graduate assistants who work every day to help students succeed. Dr. Redington has previously performed in multiple roles in higher education spanning over 30 years. She most recently served as the vice president for student affairs and enrollment management at Idaho State University.
Throughout her career, Dr. Redington has remained committed to actively and collaboratively advancing academic excellence, student achievement, and success after graduation. In her past roles, Dr. Redington led and served on presidential commissions dedicated to diversity, equity, inclusion, free speech, and academic freedom. She has also taught college courses in diversity, leadership, and various disciplines for student affairs in higher education.
Dr. Redington received her Bachelor of Science in Sociology, her Master of Science degree in Professional Studies in Higher Education, and her Doctor of Philosophy degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from Iowa State University.
Outside of work, Dr. Redington can be found taking walks with her husband Mike, talking with her daughters Amme and Emma, spending time with her granddaughters (Isabelle, Olivia, and Alia), and playing with her two pugs Timmy and Floyd.
