Welcome to Ohio University’s Women’s Club
The Ohio University Women’s Club provides an opportunity for friends to gather at a variety of social events and interest groups throughout the year to build a unique support group, as well as share our passion for the Ohio University and Athens communities, all while making lifelong connections along the way!
Membership is open to all Ohio University employees, retirees, alumni, and spouses or domestic partners of Ohio University employees, retirees, and alumni.
Our History
Originally named, “The Faculty Wives Club”, was founded in the fall of 1936. In the early 1970’s, the Club was renamed the Ohio University Women’s Club, and in the fall of 2012, membership was opened to all women who work or are partners of employees of Ohio University.
Although membership rules have changed over the years, the purpose of the group remains essentially the same – to serve as a welcoming committee for those new to the OHIO community and as a social staple for long-term members.
