School of Art + Design

A portfolio review is required for admission to any Bachelor of Fine Arts major in the School of Art + Design. For more information, please visit the Art + Design portfolio submission page.

Department of Biological Sciences

Applicants must have a 2.5 cumulative grade point average and must have completed the equivalent of BIOS 1700 and 1705.

College of Business

Applicants must have a 2.5 cumulative grade point average and must have completed the equivalent of 1) ENG 1510 and 2) ECON 1030 or ECON 1040. Applicants are encouraged, but not required, to submit an essay detailing the applicant's preparation for study in the OHIO College of Business.

School of Dance

Russ College of Engineering and Technology

For most Russ College Programs, applicants must have completed 20 semester or 30 quarter hours with a minimum 2.5 grade point average and have completed the equivalent of:

  • MATH 1200 (or higher)
  • CHEM 1210, CHEM 1500, CHEM 1510 or PHYS 2051

Aviation Flight capacity is limited due to the nature of instruction; admission will be limited and selective for the 2025-26 academic year. Applicants must submit a supplemental application. For more information, please visit the Aviation Flight supplemental application page.

Applicants to Aviation Management and Engineering Technology and Management are considered according to general university guidelines.

School of Film

Integrated Healthcare Studies Major

Applicants must have completed at least 60 semester hours in a health-related field, at least 9 hours in additional health or medical courses, a minimum 2.67 cumulative grade point average and at least one course in each of he following areas:

  • Math, logic, statistics or quantitative reasoning
  • English composition
  • Biological or natural sciences
  • Psychology
  • Sociology
  • Social work or social sciences

E. W. Scripps School of Journalism

Applicants must have completed 30 semester or 45 quarter hours with a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average. All applicants are initially admitted to University College as Undecided-Intending Journalism majors. Once enrolled, applicants must submit the supplemental application and additional materials for consideration to the School of Journalism.

School of Music

School of Nursing

Applicants must have a minimum 2.75 cumulative grade point average. Applicants meeting admission criteria are initially admitted as pre-nursing and must apply for admission to the nursing major once enrolled.

School of Theater

An audition, interview and/or portfolio review is required for admission to any Bachelor of Fine Arts major in the School of Theater. For more information, please visit the Theater audition and interview registration page.

School of Visual Communication

Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average. All applicants are initially admitted to University College as Undecided-Intending Visual Communication majors. Once enrolled, applicants must submit a separate application for consideration to the School of Visual Communication.
