Application Requirements

OHIO's College of Business takes a holistic approach to considering a candidate’s application package, which means we'll consider all parts of your application so you have an opportunity to highlight your strengths.

To be admitted to Ohio University's Full-Time MAcc program, you must generally meet the following requirements:

  • Regionally accredited bachelor’s degree in accounting or business (non-accounting, business majors will need to complete four additional pre-requisite courses)
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Current resume
  • Official/certified transcripts (sealed) from all institutions of higher education
  • Professional statement
  • GMAT/GRE is not required
  • TOEFL or IELTS required if English is not your first language

Concerning Funding Opportunities

The Full-Time MAcc awards a very limited number of Graduate Assistantships (funding offers) to students each year. This means that not all admitted students will be offered a Graduate Assistantship award. If you are offered a GA, it will include a 25% tuition waiver and a $4,000 stipend for the year. Both the tuition waiver and stipend only apply to your fall and spring semester courses. You will not receive funding for the summer courses (note that you only enroll in two courses over the summer that are completely online). Ultimately, if you are not prepared to pay at least 70-80% of the program tuition and fees, please contact us before submitting your application. We want to help you find a program that works for your specific circumstances.

Application Deadlines

Full-Time MAcc cohorts start in May (summer semester). Admission to this program is selective, with a limited number of seats available for qualified candidates. We seat each cohort through two rounds of admission with dates listed below. Admission decisions are made after each round of admission, meaning that fewer seats are available in the second round. Apply in the earliest round for maximum consideration for the May cohort and to be considered for funding opportunities. After you apply, you may be invited to interview for a spot in the program.

International Student Application Deadlines

International applications require additional time to process. Please submit your complete application and transcripts by December 1 of the year proceeding your starting semester to be considered for the program.

Note that the only start term we offer is summer semester and that you must start the program by taking two courses online during your first semester. You must take these courses online; no in person sections will be offered. If you are admitted into the program, your immigration documents will state that you will be an online student for the summer semester, then in person for classes starting in the fall semester and continuing into the spring semester only.

Applications will open September 16, 2024.
