What are the Online Sports Administration Master's admissions requirements?

The requirements for the OMSA include:

  • $50 application fee
  • Regionally accredited bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • 2 letters of recommendation from professional or academic references. At least 1 letter from a supervisor is required.
  • Official transcripts from all degree-bearing institutions at the bachelor’s level or higher and unofficial transcripts for any additional college coursework.
  • A professional plan statement discussing your career goals, how the master’s degree will help you achieve those goals, areas, or competencies that you expect the program will help you strengthen, and what you plan to contribute to the learning community.
  • Professional resume
  • TOEFL scores of iBT-80 Composite, all section scores of 17 (Paper-based-550 Composite, Writing 5, and scores of 52 in all of the sections), and 6.5 Composite, all Bands 6.5
    • Non-native speakers also need to provide TOEFL scores
  • Two years of work experience in the sports industry preferred

While this is a high profile program, we do take a holistic approach to admissions. If you have a lower GPA than what's required but have had career success and can show that your study habits and academic ability is different than what your college GPA reflects, please explain that in your professional plan statement.
