History Graduate Non-Thesis Examination

Students who select the non-thesis option will take a written comprehensive examination in the two major fields designated on their degree M.A. Planning Form (Non-Thesis Option) [PDF]. To be eligible to take the comprehensive exam, a student must have completed all courses required for the degree (or be in the final semester of study for the degree) and have no grades of PR or I in those courses. The faculty member who supervises each field will grade the exam and inform the student and the Director of Graduate Studies whether the student has passed or failed.
