Joy Talemwa, a graduate student at Ohio University, is a dedicated advocate for social change with a strong focus on community empowerment and health equity. Hailing from Kampala, Uganda, she has leveraged her skills in storytelling, photography, and audio-visual art to promote inclusive policies and interventions.

Prior to joining Ohio University, Joy worked with Children's Mission Africa (CMA), where she established the regional communications department and provided advisory support to partner organizations across Africa. Her experience in health research and her recent role as a communications fellow at PATH Zambia have further solidified her commitment to addressing health disparities.

Joy's research interests align with her passion for social change. She is particularly interested in exploring the modifiable factors and barriers that affect the representation of women and youth as community agents of change. Her research will contribute to understanding the challenges and opportunities faced by these groups and inform strategies for promoting their involvement in social change initiatives.

Beyond her academic pursuits, Joy enjoys reading non-fiction content, running, and spending time with loved ones. Her passion, dedication, and impressive experience make her a valuable asset to the field of social change and community development.
