Certificate Requirements
Full Requirements and Courses in the Official Academic Catalog
The East Asian Studies Certificate program requires a minimum of 26 hours and maintaining a 2.5 or higher GPA in certificate courses.
Courses and Languages
- Take the core course HIST 2460 - The Rise of Modern Asia.
- Complete two years (four semesters) or equivalent in an East Asian language. OHIO offers language courses in Chinese and Japanese.
- Take three elective courses such as Buddhism, History of Traditional or Modern Japan, Economics of China, and Introduction to Japanese Culture, and many more.
