The content can also play a vital role within other inter-professional team members who have a role in the coordination of care. 

The online format provides highly affordable classes designed by health care professionals currently working in the field that clinicians can register and complete anytime, anywhere.

The interactive series is open to all health care professionals and offers continuing education credits.

Course Offerings

Course 1: Care Delivery and Reimbursement Methods in Case Management

  • Learn to describe the roles of a case manager and list components of care delivery including models of care, health care delivery systems, cost containment principles, reimbursement and payment methodologies, and the continuum of care.

Course 2: Ethical, Legal and Practice Standards in Case Management

  • Describe basic legal sources affecting case management including sources of law, theories of liability, negligence, and torts;
  • Summarize the elements of malpractice and negligence;
  • Recognize the different types of advance directives and models of ethical decision making
  • Identify national case management standards and practices

Course 3: Care Coordination and Planning for Case Managers

  • Summarize the function of care coordination and planning, including the guiding principles and steps;
  • Describe functional capacity and the features of vocational rehabilitation;
  • Recognize the impact of health literacy on health outcomes as applied to Case Management.

Course 4: Psychosocial Concepts and Support Systems in Case Management

  • Identify the stages of change in case management clientele;
  • Apply self-care as the case manager and provide to the client;
  • Recognize the psychosocial conditions affecting case management, including the client’s economic, educational, social, psychological, cultural, and religious attributes.

Course 5: Quality and Outcomes Evaluation and Measurement in Case Management

  • Describe the accreditation process and requirements for the Commission for Case Manager Certification;
  • Identify and discuss quality indicators and quality assurance measurements per the Commission for Case Manager Certification.

Continuing Education Credits

Consortium for Health Education in Appalachia Ohio is an approved provider of nursing continuing professional development by the Midwest Multistate Division, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

The Consortium for Health Education in Appalachia Ohio’s Midwest MSD Provider Approval# is: OH224-4 and approval is in place through Jan. 31, 2027.

Each of these workshops has been approved for CE hours by the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage and Family Therapist Board, Columbus, Ohio.
