Eastern Cares
Eastern Cares: Prioritizing Student Well-Being
What is Eastern Cares?
Eastern Cares is an initiative at Ohio University Eastern designed to support students' mental health and well-being. College can be challenging—especially for first-generation students, who make up over 51% of our student body. Balancing academics, social life, and work can take a toll, and accessing mental health care in Southeastern Ohio can be difficult due to limited services and long wait times.
Eastern Cares bridges the gap by providing accessible, stigma-free support, fostering open conversations, and ensuring students get the help they need to succeed.
Our Mission
Eastern Cares is committed to:
✅ Expanding mental health resources for students
✅ Reducing stigma around seeking help
✅ Creating a supportive and inclusive campus environment
✅ Connecting students with professional counseling and crisis support
Our Partners & Resources

🟢 Tri County Help Center – Providing counseling, crisis intervention, and education to support student well-being.
