Katie decided to attend Ohio University after experiencing the friendly atmosphere and beautiful campus during her first tour. She originally planned to major in journalism but changed to mechanical engineering after her first quarter, and she hasn’t regretted it.
In addition to classes, Katie keeps busy in Tau Beta Pi and Pi Tau Sigma honor societies. She’s also the president of the Mechanical Engineering Student Advisory Board, which aims to providing open communication between staff and students in the department. She also participated in a co-op at DuPont in Washington, West Virginia, for four sessions.
In her spare time, she enjoys reading, spending time with her family and playing with her golden doodle, Carmen.
