Matthew McKenzie
Hometown: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Expected Graduation: May 2018
Ohio University was the first campus that Matthew toured, and also the last. One thing Matthew was interested in was finding a school whose size felt right – a college that was small enough to know and interact with many of the same people on daily basis, yet one with a large enough university to continually see new faces. This combination at OHIO, along with professors who were willing to help and a beautiful campus, created the perfect fit for Matthew.
Aside from classwork and serving as an Engineering Ambassador, Matthew invests most of his time as a leader of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers Human Powered Vehicle Competition team. He is also a member of the Robe Leadership Institute, where he hopes to develop his leadership skills and techniques.
In his free time, Matthew enjoys hiking on the trails in the surrounding Ohio region, as well as playing soccer and golf.
