Ohio University adopts Inter-University Council Scientific Supplier Agreements


As previously communicated, the Ohio Task Force on Affordability and Efficiency in Higher Education, with the Board of Trustees ratification, requires Ohio University to leverage purchases campus-wide through preferred suppliers and leverage purchases state-wide for areas of common spending through the Inter-University Council Purchasing Group (IUC-PG). Given these restrictions, we understand the need for more choice and a wider selection of preferred suppliers.

Payroll issues guidance on end of fiscal year reconciliation of leave usage


As the end of FY18 approaches, faculty and staff are reminded to record all planned and/or confirmed absences through June 30 in the appropriate system to ensure that leave balances are appropriately reflected and carried over into FY19.

Grants General – New OBI dashboard tabs


There are four new tabs in the OBI Grants General dashboard. The Grants Installment Status dashboard provides details regarding the installment(s) for each award. The IDC tabs provide details on the Facilities and Administrative (F&A) / Indirect Cost (IDC) distributions to departments and faculty Research Incentive accounts.

Campus Climate Task Force subcommittee makes recommendations to improve University Professional Development and Departmental Leadership


In 2014, Ohio University Executive Vice President and Provost Pam Benoit established the Campus Climate Task Force to evaluate information resulting from the Modern Think 2014 Great Colleges Survey and formulate actionable recommendations.

Purchasing mandate for preferred suppliers moves into final phase


As previously communicated, the Ohio Task Force on Affordability and Efficiency in Higher Education, with the Board of Trustees ratification, requires Ohio University to leverage purchases campus-wide through contracted suppliers and leverage purchases state-wide for areas of common spending through the Inter-University Council Purchasing Group (IUC-PG). There are several initiatives underway on campus that support these mandates. The Affordability and Efficiency (AE) Work Group formed in 2017 to help implement these state-issued mandates and their work has included a roll out plan of the preferred supplier list for the institution.
