Amber Hood

Assistant Professor of Instruction, Lighting Design

Amber is an internationally recognized professional lighting designer, programmer, and production manager specializing in commercial musical theatre and high-end corporate events. Her work as a designer is theatrical in nature, tethered to the emotional core of the production, and flows musically in tandem with the action onstage. Amber consistently works to build, and be the bridge between the two solitudes of theatrical practice: exceptional technical craft and vulnerable artistic expression. Whether onstage or off, it takes collaboration, skill, vision, and passion to produce outstanding art. If you’re not having fun, you’re not doing it right!

Selected companies include: Mirvish Productions (Toronto, ON), The Stratford Festival (Stratford, ON), The Shaw Festival (Niagara on the Lake, ON), The Village Theatre (Seattle), The Moore Theatre (Seattle), ArtsWest Playhouse (Seattle), Celebrity Cruise Lines (International), Cirque Du Soleil (Arena Tour), and The Just for Laughs Festival (Montreal)
