Amanda Cole
Amanda Cole is from Meigs County, Ohio and has always had a love for art and design. After two years of being a biology major she decided that she wanted to pursue something more creative and started her Interior Architecture journey. Amanda’s thesis focuses on relieving food insecurity in rural and low-income areas while improving the overall nutrition to people in these communities. After learning more about nutrition and seeing how food insecurity affects the health and well-being of people in small, rural communities – such as the ones in southeast Ohio – Amanda felt inspired to create a nutritional community center. This center will provide access to much needed resources such as a nutritionist clinic, education spaces, a community garden, and a market all while being a place for the community to come together. After graduation, Amanda plans to get a design job in Ohio but in the future she hopes to have the opportunity to work remotely while traveling.
