Bailey Buell
Bailey Buell was raised in a small, rural village in West-Central Ohio. Since being exposed to the world of possibilities in design as a student in Interior Architecture at Ohio University, she has been truly inspired to make a difference. Growing up in a rural farm community exposed Bailey to the challenges people in these areas face such as inaccessible healthcare, poor infrastructure, and low education attainment. It is these very challenges that gave impetus to her Senior Thesis project.
Peace of Mind memory care community’s mission is to provide a safe space where elders living with Dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease can thrive. The largest obstacle that rural communities face is their disproportionate burden of chronic disease relative to the general public, due to restricted access to quality health care. With the inclusion of a public neurology clinic within its walls, this facility hopes to provide access to mental diagnoses and routine care for not only its residents but for the surrounding communities. Bailey dedicates her Thesis Project and research to her Grandpa Charles Caudill, who suffered from Dementia from 2015 until his passing in 2020.
Bailey plans to continue her education until graduating in December 2023, and currently serves as Assistant Interior Designer at Copperleaf Interiors in Marietta, OH. With special interest in restaurant, retail, and workplace design, she looks forward to exploring her opportunities and pursuing her design career post-grad wherever the world takes her.
