My name is Aeden Grothaus, and I hail from Cincinnati, Ohio. My interest in design sparked when I encountered books on classic design eras and diverse furniture pieces. Initially studying Retail Merchandising and fashion product development at Ohio University, I delved into various textiles and fabrics. However, I felt the need to unleash my creativity further. Transitioning to interior architecture not only honed my desired skills but also led me to form lasting friendships. Adding a studio art minor, I also took on the role of co-student president for IIDA (International Interior Designers Association). Post-graduation, I aim to venture beyond Ohio, exploring commercial, residential, or furniture design realms. 

As part of my thesis, I chose to create a wellness center that employs the use of psilocybin, the active compound found in magic mushrooms. Recent research has shown that this treatment option can be effective in aiding those affected by depression, anxiety, addiction, and PTSD. These issues are complex, and it's inspiring to see something derived from nature have such a positive impact on individuals. Innovative treatment options can lead to breakthrough discoveries, and designing a building that incorporates healing architecture is the pinnacle of design for me.
