Melissa Brobeck has been described as a “riveting presence” with an “electrifying singing voice” who always “brings plenty of memorable pizzazz” to the stage. Her performance work spans a number of mediums, including theatre, cabaret, concert, classical music, and one time, stand-up comedy.

As an actor-singer, Melissa has worked regionally at Cleveland Play House, Short North Stage, Southern Appalachian Repertory Theatre, Virginia Musical Theatre, Actors’ Summit, Downstairs Cabaret Theatre, and with Seat of the Pants Productions; favorite productions include My Fair Lady, Assassins, Little Women, God of Carnage, and I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change. She is a member of Actors’ Equity Association.

Melissa earned a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Eastman School of Music and a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from UNC Greensboro (UNCG) School of Music, Theatre and Dance. She is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) and was selected as part of the prestigious NATS Intern program in 2016, studying with master teacher Jeannette LoVetri. Melissa is trained in Somatic Voicework™ the LoVetri Method and has studied the Bel Canto / Can Belto and Estill Voice methods. She is also a certified yoga instructor. Additionally, Melissa serves on the voice faculty of the Athens Community Music School.

Her favorite things include the colors pink and gold, beavers, vanilla ice cream, Nicolas Cage, and the smell of rosemary. She lives in Athens, Ohio, with her husband, two children, and their Chihuahua, Barnaby.
