2023 Society of Composers Region V Conference

The 2023 Society of Composers, Inc. Region V Conference brings together 70+ visiting composers and the fantastic performing talents of the Ohio University School of Music faculty and students. Over three days, the School of Music will present seven concerts and two lectures featuring nearly all performance faculty and faculty ensembles as well as student ensembles including the Wind Symphony, Symphony Orchestra, University Singers, Jazz Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, Trombone Choir, and more. This festival features new music written by leading composers from the United States and beyond for soloists, chamber groups, large ensembles, electronics, video, and more.
Dr. Robert McClure, Associate Professor of Composition/Theory and Conference Host describes the event as “a wonderful opportunity for our faculty and students to interact with living composers and present these ear-opening performances to our Athens community.” Each event is free and open to the public.
