I decided to pursue my education in interior architecture stemmed from knowing that I fmd fulfillment in being creative, and was always drawn to interiors, frequently moving the furniture around in my bedroom as a young girl to find what worked best. As my education progressed, I knew this career was right for me, and grew to love the process of creative problem solving that is a cornerstone of interior design. Using my creativity to help others and make a difference in the daily lives of people thrills me, which has led me to my thesis topic.

I chose to focus my thesis on creating a space for developmentally disabled adults to foster their independence. The group home will empower its residents to grow in their personal and professional lives, providing a safe space for them to reside. It has all the important aspects of care needs and accessibility, combined with the personal comforts of home, providing a sense of community and belonging.
