Some form of identification, medications you are taking (prescription bottles are helpful for the first visit), and any recent medical lab or imaging results.
The Care Clinic has experienced nursing staff to assist with obtaining low-cost medications, lab tests, medical imaging, and other needs that arise.
First and second year medical students take patient histories and vitals, perform physical exams, and develop a treatment plan. All patient information the student receives is reported to our experienced team of licensed nurses and physicians who oversee each patient's case. If you have questions about your visit, clinic staff can be contacted at 740.593.2432 between 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
We ask patients to block out 1.5 hours for the first appointment and 1 hour for follow-up appointments. Medical students are learning the process of managing appointments and collaborating with the supervising physician is part of the process, so that takes a bit more time. We like to think of it as the healthcare team working together to make sure you receive the best care possible.
We believe patient-centered, quality healthcare should be accessible to all regardless of income. We strive to give our patients the best experience possible, which includes as much time and attention as they need. In addition to receiving excellent health care that is free, our patients give back by helping our students learn to become future physicians. And that is a huge deal for which we are grateful.
