Class Types

Basic Life Support
The AHEC Training Center provides Basic Life Support courses. BLS refers to non-invasive assessments and interventions used to treat victims of respiratory and/or cardiovascular emergencies and stroke. This term has become synonymous with cardiopulmonary resuscitation and can include automated external defibrillation.

Advanced Cardiac Life Support
The AHEC Training Center provides Advanced Cardiac Life Support courses. ACLS is medical interventions used to treat victims of respiratory and/or cardiac emergencies and stroke. This includes invasive techniques such as intubation and administration of drugs.

Pediatric Life Support
The AHEC Training Center provides Pediatric Life Support courses. This includes advanced medical assessment and interventions used to treat pediatric (child) victims of respiratory and/or cardiovascular emergencies and stroke, including invasive techniques such as intubation and drug administration.

Heartsaver
Heartsaver classes focus on CPR. This can include adult, child and infant modules and can include the use of first aid and automated external defibrillator.

Community BLS Classes
Basic Life Support classes are available to the community. One BLS class is offered monthly.
