OHIO to host February seminar on writing grant proposals

Ohio University will host the in-person seminar, "Write Winning Grant Proposals: Core, NSF and NIH," presented by John D. Robertson, Ph.D., from the Grant Writers' Seminars and Workshops, in February 2025.

The seminar will run in three sessions, with one covering core grant writing strategies and one each covering NSF and NIH-specific strategies.

The workshop is open to faculty, research staff and graduate students (with permission of their faculty advisor). Collaborators from entities outside the OHIO may participate, with prior approval. For information on the prior approval, contact Roxanne Male’-Brune at male-bru@ohio.edu.

Seminar dates

  • Part 1: Core Tips: Monday, Feb. 24, 2025, 8:30 a.m.-12:00 noon
  • Part 2: NSF Tips: Monday, Feb. 24, 2025, 1:00-4:30 p.m.
  • Part 3: NIH Tips: Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2025, 8:30 a.m.-12:00 noon

This seminar will focus on proposal writing for federal agencies (NSF and NIH), with a required CORE session in the morning on Feb. 24, 2025.

Participants may then choose to attend either the NSF session in the afternoon on Feb. 24 or the NIH session in the morning on Feb. 25. Participants may also choose to attend both the NSF and the NIH sessions, in addition to the CORE session.

Regardless of funding agency, the majority of this content will be relevant and usable for individuals applying to various funding entities (e.g., private foundations, professional organizations, and state agencies).
