OHIO students encouraged to participate in OSCARS and Three Minute Thesis competitions in spring semester
Undergraduate and graduate students at Ohio University are encouraged to participate in the OSCARS Impact and Three Minute Thesis® competitions.
Both competitions will be held in February 2025 and are based on the Three Minute Thesis® (3MT) event, which was founded by The University of Queensland in 2008.
In the competitions, students are challenged to present essential findings and details of their research/creative projects in three minutes or less and with only one Power Point slide.
The key is for students to consolidate their projects into three minutes, with one slide, and still convey the impact to a general audience. Therefore, it is essential that entrants have completed a significant portion of their projects prior to the competitions so they can convey the impact of their efforts and the outcomes of their project.
For both competitions, prizes are $2,000 (first place), $1,000 (second place), $500 (third place) and $250 for each remaining finalist.
