Welcome

Congratulations on joining our Well-Being & Recreation team! You are now part of a diverse department that spans multiple programs and facilities all designed to serve the students, employees, and community of Ohio University.

While this handbook and the area-specific information and training you receive will address specific expectations for your employment, I encourage you to never lose sight of the following three things:

  1. The work that you do matters and how you do your work makes the difference. Take pride in your effort and attitude.
  2. Your opinions, perspective and voice matter. Look all around you, identify opportunities for improvement and share them. Great ideas come from all levels so whether you are new to the staff or a returning veteran, you have the opportunity and invitation to make a difference.
  3. The professional staff are here to support you, through your employment and your education. Your development and learning are at the heart of what we do. If, at any time, you have questions, face challenges, or need guidance we are here.

We are excited for you to be a part of Well-Being & Recreation and look forward to a great year! Go Bobcats!
