Signature Authority - B14.07

Purpose

This procedure outlines the requirements for signature authority of a research and sponsored project proposal submission.

Scope

This procedure applies to all sponsored projects subject to OU Policy 19.050 Submission of Proposals for Support of Research or Other Activities to Governmental Agencies, Business or Industrial Concerns, or Other Organizations.

Procedure

According to University policy, all proposals for external support of research or other programs, exclusive of student financial aid, must be approved by the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP) and the Vice President for Research (VPR) and Graduate Studies prior to submission to the prospective sponsor.

The Authorized Organizational Representative (AOR) is designated by the VPR.

When the sponsor requires a designated 501(c)3 for submission, the ORSP SPM will send the proposal for OU Foundation signature, per delegation of signature authority for the OU Foundation.
