Virtual Program Guest Schedule (Summer)

This is a general overview of the Virtual BSO program. A personalized schedule will be provided on the day of the program via the email provided on the sign-up form.

Before 8:15 a.m.Electronic Check-in
Students will check in for the program by going to the link in the final details message sent to their OHIO email 3-4 days before the orientation date. After completing the online form, students will receive an email confirming their check-in. That email will include a link to the first meeting of the day. This must be completed by 8:15 am on the BSO date.
 If you are participating in BSO from a time zone other than Eastern Time or Central Time, you will receive pre-recorded versions of the first few presentations when you complete the check-in process. We recommend checking in early on the day before your program to have time to watch those videos. In this case, your first live presentation that you are required to join is at 11:15 a.m. Eastern.
7:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.Virtual Help Desk Available
A link to a virtual help desk will be available throughout the day for any students having difficulty getting to the appropriate virtual meeting spaces or for any additional assistance needed.
8:15 a.m.Virtual Meeting Rooms Open
Guests should join their student on the same device for the beginning of the program. Students are encouraged to log in before the program to ensure their technology is ready to begin promptly at 8:35 am. A virtual help desk will be available for students with questions or concerns.
8:25 - 9:50 a.m.Morning Presentations (with Students)
Meet the orientation team, review the orientation program schedule, and hear from University administration. There will also be presentations on OHIO history and traditions, the OHIO Guarantee+ and services to know. 
9:50 - 10:00 a.m.Quick Stretch Break
10:00 a.m. - 12:10 p.m.Family and Guest Program Presentations
Our orientation leaders will share their own stories about interactions with their family members in their own transition. We will also have presentations about helping your student THRIVE at OHIO, safety and support, and supporting students in transition.  
12:10 - 1 p.m.Lunch Break
1 - 1:45 p.m.Family and Guest Academic Meet and Greet with Colleges
Connect with your student’s academic college and learn about University, college, and major requirements.
1:45 - 3:45 p.m.

Family and Guest Afternoon Presentations

Hear from a panel to learn more about campus safety, security, and holistic well-being. Then, learn more about how to support your student in transition and tools to help you do that. Finally, there will be an opportunity to write a letter to your student and connect with other family members and guests attending our program.
