Lieutenant Colonel Josh Lev
Commander, Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps Detachment 650 and Professor of Aerospace Studies
Lieutenant Colonel Josh A. Lev is responsible for recruiting, educating, training, and preparing students for commissioning into the Air Force as second lieutenants. He is the senior Air Force officer on campus with dual responsibilities as Detachment Commander and Chair of the Department of Aerospace Studies with the status of full professor.
Lieutenant Colonel Lev is a 2006 distinguished graduate through Air Force ROTC Detachment 630, Kent State University. He has served in various intelligence, instructor, and military strategist positions at the tactical, operational, and strategic levels. His experience includes supporting operations IRAQI FREEDOM and ENDURING FREEDOM, with 1,200 flight hours in the RC-135 RIVET JOINT. Prior to his current assignment, Lt Col Lev led a 19-person team to identify asymmetric vulnerabilities and opportunities between the USAF and its adversaries. This effort directly supported the Chief of Staff of the Air Force by leveraging net analysis methodology informing future concept and capability development, and future force design.
